You may find yourself feeling irritable at family challenges, which may evoke emotional reactions. This agitated feeling could cause you to react sensitively toward any situation that is close to your heart. When we are not feeling our strongest and best, it is easy for things to seem more challenging than they truly are. While we are feeling emotional, it can be difficult to discern the best course of action because we may react before we have the chance to consider and respond consciously. We can choose to breathe deeply and take a moment before reacting. Then we can respond in an appropriate and insightful manner and move forward, rather than having to go backward to make up for hurt feelings or misunderstandings. We can take a moment to reflect before we react, ensuring that we respond from our highest self.
Remember that the irritation of an oyster becomes a pearl, which tells us to search for the gem among our difficulties. If we keep in mind that every challenge contains a gift, then feelings of irritation and annoyance become minor as we lift our thoughts higher. When we breathe deeply and take a moment to center ourselves, we connect with our higher wisdom, enabling us to come from a better place when we respond. There is an opportunity in every moment to rise above the fluctuations of mood to be our best selves. When we choose to respond from the best within, we invite the best out of others as well, and only the best can be the result.
Not only are these wise words to remember on a day to day basis, I think they are especially important to remember when traveling with family or anyone else for that matter….
Traveling with others can be irritating and frustrating sometimes. It’s important to take a moment before reacting to recenter ourselves, and gain some control over our emotions….(something I struggle with daily lol).
Not always easy I know 😊 but it’s doable and hopefully a positive outcome will rule your day/travel.
